Doubloon Studio

I Crucible

First, the fire.

Doubloon Studio makes websites for small businesses in Broward County, Florida, and hands every piece to the owner.

Start yours

II Pour

Poured to your measure, and no one else's.

Every site is shaped around one business. Its look comes from your own work and the place you do it, so it could only be yours.

III Strike

Struck by hand. Sworn to you.

One of one. Your design is made for your business and never reused for another.

IV Fall

Every plank, every key, yours to keep.

I build your site, then I hand it over. The domain is bought on your card and sits in your account, and so does the hosting. The files are yours, and the form sends straight to your inbox.

Anything I got wrong in the first 30 days, I fix at no charge. After that, changes come in paid batches, only when you ask. And if I vanish, nothing you own breaks.

V Under

Four bells, and she sails.

  1. 1 Intake

We talk, and you fill in a short questionnaire. Then you send the photos and facts the site needs.

  2. 2 Build

I design and build the whole site, then send you a preview to open on your phone.

  3. 3 One revision round

You tell me what to change and I change it, in one round. Further rounds are paid batches.

  4. 4 Handoff

The accounts are set up in your name and the site goes live on your domain. You keep the logins and a dated backup of every file.

VI Sand

Built to outlast the tide.

Gold does not rust or tarnish. A site you own can last too: it is plain files that anyone who knows the web can open and change.

The work

No names here yet. A client's name goes on a coin only after they say yes in writing.

VII Yours

This one bears your name.

A gold coin seen from above, with a business name set around its edge

This stays on the page. Nothing you type here is sent.

Strike it

What sets the quote.

Every project gets its own quote, written for your business. Four things decide it.

Scope and pages
How many pages the site needs, and how much each one has to say.
Imagery and motion
Whether the site runs on your own photos alone, or adds film and movement around them.
Booking
How customers ask for your time. Appointment businesses get a request form and a calendar only they can see. Restaurants get a table booking service.
The search monitor
Optional and monthly: a plain report on how your business shows up in search, with fixes as a step up.

After launch, changes come in paid update batches, whenever you want them.

Who you work with.

I'm Alan Lanham. I make Doubloon Studio sites for businesses in Broward County, Florida, and every one is built to be handed over: the business that pays for it owns it outright.

Questions

Updated

Who owns the website after it is built?

You do. The site and its domain belong to you, and so does every account it runs on. The domain is bought on your own card. If Doubloon Studio closed tomorrow, nothing you own would stop working.

What happens after the site launches?

For 30 days after launch, anything that was broken as delivered is fixed at no charge. After that, changes are done as paid update batches, only when you ask for one. No subscription is required, and neither side is bound to ongoing work.

How much does a website cost?

Each project is quoted for the business and what it needs, so there is no price list on this site. Send a note through the contact form to ask for a quote.

Where does Doubloon Studio work?

Doubloon Studio builds websites for owner-operated small businesses in Broward County, Florida. Any trade is welcome.
